District heating in Albertslund
The Specific Rule
The heating supply is municipal and is expected to be CO2-neutral in 2025 in accordance with VEKS' goal. Low-temperature district heating will be introduced in 2026. Albertslund Forsyning will lower the temperature to 60 degrees in 2026, halving pipe heat loss. The municipality aims to phase out all oil and natural gas-heated buildings by converting to district heating where possible. Alternatives to biomass are sought, and new housing areas are, as a rule, to be supplied with district heating.
